Genk technical director Dmitir De Conde has insisted that the club will not stop Paul Onuachu from moving to a new club at the end of the season.
Onuachu, who linked up with Genk from Danish club Midtjylland in 2019, has been on the radar of top European clubs due to his impressive displays for the Smurfs this season.
The 26-year-old has scored 29 goals and recorded two assists in 33 appearances for Genk.
“As a technical director I would prefer to see him stay. That being said, this may be the time for him to leave,” De Conde told La Dernière Heure
“But it is a complex file, everything depends on the market. Hopefully we will find a solution together with him.
” But if there is a chance that he will stay, I will do everything I can.”
Meanwhile, Onuachu will hope to win his first title with Genk when the club face Standard Liege in the Belgian Cup final at the Stade Roi Baudouin, Brussel on Sunday.
Genk won Anderlecht 2-1 in the semi-final and the Nigerian has scored twice in two appearances for the Smurfs in the competition this season.
