Nigerian winger, Samuel Kalu returned to training on Wednesday after he slumped on the pitch at the Stade Velodrome during a Ligue 1 clash against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday.
The FC Girondins de Bordeaux forward collapsed on the pitch in the sixth minute, as Dimitri Payet prepared to take a free-kick in the game which ended in a 2-2 draw.
While there were fears over his well-being, his former teammate in the national team, John Ogu had allayed worries, insisting the forward was in a stable condition.
Kalu walked off pitch with the help of his team-mates, holding an ice pack against his head, but returned and managed to get some minutes under his belt before he was substituted.
The club took to the social media to announce his return to training.
“Samuel Kalu is back in training,” reads a tweet on the club’s official Twitter handle.
Vladimir Petkovic’s side will host Angers in their next League game on Sunday. However, it is not clear if Kalu, 23, would be selected for the match.
Kalu endured an injury-plagued campaign last season with a recurring thigh muscle strain that limited him to just 20 league matches, with four goals to his name.
