Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way back to Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window, agent Andrea D’Amico confirmed.
Despite producing another stunning performance for the Juventus during the 2021 season, the 36-year-old has been hugely criticized for failing to spur his side past the Champions League round of 16 and slumping to a fourth place finish in the Serie A.
The Portugal international during the period under review amassed a total of 36 goals in 44 appearances in all competition and thereby winning his first Coppa Italia trophy with the Old Lady.
United are willing to secure the services of their former attacker ahead of next season.
D’Amico said the deal is a real possibility, with Paul Pogba – out of contract at Old Trafford next June – potentially heading in the opposite direction.
“It’s difficult to predict what will happen, we should be in Massimiliano Allegri’s mind. My suggestion is that CR7 can finish his career elsewhere,” D’Amico told Tuttosport.
“Where? Not in Spain or Germany. Paris Saint-Germain is also difficult. Going by exclusion, I would say Manchester United, maybe with the Ronaldo-Pogba exchange.”
Ronaldo spent six years at Old Trafford between 2003 and 2009, scoring 118 goals in 292 appearances for the English giants.
