Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal secured all three points for Juventus in a 3 – 0 win over Spezia on Tuesday as he reached another career milestone for himself.
Alvaro Morata and Federico Chiesa put the hosts in front after a goalless first-half, before Ronaldo wrapped it up late on after being teed up by Rodrigo Bentancur to mark his 600th club appearance with a goal.
It was Ronaldo’s 20th Serie A goal of the season, and ensured that he reached that number of league strikes for a 12th successive campaign, dating all the way back to the 2009/10 campaign, his first at Real Madrid.
The victory took Juventus within seven points of league leaders Inter Milan.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi is one goal away from hitting his 20th La Liga strike of the season, and will have done so for 13 campaigns in a row once he manages it.
Ronaldo still has another year on his contract in Turin, but David Beckham says that he would love to bring both the Portuguese and Messi to his MLS side Inter Miami.
“I think that the fans would really appreciate that. But, you know, as owners, we want players here that are driven, that want to win, and that’s our priority.
“With [current players] Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo (Higuain), these are players that we feel add to the glitz and the glamour of what the club is.
“Going forward, we also want to bring other players in if we have the opportunity to bring some great names in, you obviously mentioned Leo (Messi) and Cristiano (Ronaldo).”
