Visiting Brighton came to Old Trafford prepared and left with victory against Manchester United in the first premier league match for Coach Eric Ten Hag.
It was a foreseen defeat for the Red Devils under the new coach following poor pre-season outcomes of their preparation, with the club finding it difficult to make Cristiano Ronaldo decision.
As the match progressed, Ten Hag met a gloomy start when Pascal Gross silenced the Old Trafford crowd in the 29th minute of play.
The Seagulls grabbed their second goal after Gross made another brilliant strike in David de Gea’s net.
The Pascal Gross brace proved the difference so far between the visitors and United.
Later on, United pulled one back through a Alexis Mac Allister own goal.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo who had wanted to leave the club before the start of the current campaign was left on the bench until 52 minutes when he substituted Fred.
His introduction in the second half couldn’t salvage anything for the homers on a Sunday when the visitors’ fans were heard chanting, “can you allow us to play you every week.”
