Liverpool surprisingly lost 0-1 to English Premier League, (EPL) relegation threatened Bournemouth in one of the matches decided on Saturday March 11, 2023.
The result meant the Reds conceded in the League for the first time in 497 minutes.
The defeat for Liverpool also happened one week after they thrashed Manchester United 7-0.
Also, Mohamed Salah’s glaring penalty miss, helped ensure Bournemouth climbed out of the relegation zone after a win, which damaged Liverpool’s chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Salah, who became Liverpool’s all-time top Premier League scorer with 129 goals last week, blazed the penalty wide much to the delight of Bournemouth’s fans.
While the win catapulted Bournemouth to 16th on the table, Jurgen Klopp’s side missed the chance to go fourth for the first time this season after a lethargic display.
Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic score to further ease pressure on Graham Potter
Meanwhile, Chelsea completed a perfect week by earning a third consecutive win in an entertaining 3-1 victory at Leicester to further ease the pressure on head coach Graham Potter.
The Blues progressed into the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday, with a turnaround victory over Borussia Dortmund, following a much-needed three points against Leeds last weekend.
Their good form continued when Ben Chilwell fired them into an early lead against his former club, but Patson Daka equalised with a wonderful effort from 25 yards, which flew into the bottom corner.
However, Chelsea went ahead again in first-half injury-time, as Kai Havertz lobbed goalkeeper Danny Ward before Mateo Kovacic wrapped things up with a volley as Leicester fell to a fourth consecutive defeat, with centre-back Wout Faes sent off late on.
Talking about other matches, Everton held on after getting early goal to beat Brentford 1-0.
Leeds United and Brighton played a 2-2 draw on the same day.
Earlier, Tottenham blew away Nottingham Forest 3-1 to stay within top four chase in the League.
