A former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan has said no Nigerian life needs to be lost over the peaceful protest demanding police reforms.
The former President on his Twitter handle said, “No Nigerian blood needs to be spilled or life lost during a peaceful protest that seeks to advance our country.”
“We may hold different views on national issues, but there is no doubt that most people desire the same thing for Nigeria.
“A place where we can all live out the full potential of our God-given abilities.
“I implore everyone to exercise restraint as we walk through these challenging times,” he stated.
The protest, which started in Lagos State over 10 days ago, has snowballed across the country as youth and celebrities continue to demand for an end to the police special anti robbery squad, SARS.
Heritage Times gathered that over 10 protesters have been killed at different times during the course of protest.
The protest has continued even after the government panel set up to look at the demands of protesters agreed to their terms.
This is even after the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu dissolved the out fit and replaced it with another unit; Special Weapons and Tactical Team (SWAT).
