It’s okay if you rather enjoy every moment than trying to make every aspect of the day perfect. Remember, Christmas is just one day out of 365, so keep stress at bay and enjoy the moment.
2. Stay Hydrated: Without adequate hydration, we often feel hungry, sluggish, and tired. This can cause us to miss workouts, snack on unhealthy foods, and reach for excess caffeine. During this holiday period, it is advisable to drink plenty of water with every meal, it will help reduce the number of calories you ingest.
3. Avoid OverEating: Yeah, I said it. I know Christmas is a time of plenty, lots of drinks, all sorts of food, small chops wherever you look. Rather than mindlessly popping whatever is in front of you into your mouth; wait for at least 15-20 minutes before taking a second serving of your favourite dish. This way, you give the necessary time to your body to digest the first meal and realize that you might not be hungry.
4. Do Something Nice For Someone: Recent studies have shown that Investing in others is a sure way to achieve happiness. Try to do something for others this festive season, it could taking food to the homeless, giving Christmas packages to those in need or visiting sick ones in the hospital.
5. Learn to Say No: During this festive period, you will be faced with variety of foods, it is important to practice healthy nutrition. Learn to say No to the wrong foods! You don’t have to go to every party you’ve been invited and you don’t always have to eat every choice of food you are offered.
6. Keep Yourself Moving: We know this is the much-awaited holiday season for you, but don’t sit for too long all day. Encourage the whole family to get out for a walk after dinner to aid digestion. You can also play some outdoor family games, bike riding, football, or play some old-fashioned games to keep everyone active.
7. Sleep Is Crucial: It’s so important to keep up with your sleep and make sure you get your 7 hours a night.
