Burna who was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards and lost, finally took the trophy home at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, making him the first Nigerian with back-to-back nominations at the Grammys, even as he won the award for Best World Music Album.

Like many celebrities Burna Boy has come under a lot of scrutiny and criticism from his personal life, ideas and attitudes. Notwithstanding, the self-acclaimed African Giant has risen twice as tall.

Here a six things to learn from the life of Burna Boy:

*Uniqueness

Often times, the wave of the crowd seem the easiest and most pronounced. Thus creating your own unique identity might make you weird and even seem uninteresting. At the end of the day, Burna Boy has made us understand that uniqueness is your selling point, it’s what gives you an edge over others.

*Patience

If there’s one lesson that needs to be emphasized amongst this fast paced generation, then its patience.

Burna Boy despite being in the musical scene for years, kept pushing, understanding that anything great takes time to get pronounced. In other words, despite being unique, time is also needed for talent to blossom.

*Aim High

Despite receiving various awards locally, Burna Boy kept insisting that his songs were Grammy worthy. Not that he despised it, he knew that it was possible for him to play in the big leagues and also hold the most respected award in the world.

Burna is an example of growth. Growing beyond your scope. Limiting ones’ self within a scope kills the zeal of being better. In every walks of life, aiming high should be the goal.

*Make an Impact

Burna Boy’s Grammy win has set a standard to other Nigerian artist that it is actually possible to rise to the International front. He has inspired others to understand that it’s actually possible for the African child to go home as a Grammy winner.

It is worth to note that no one will talk about music in Nigeria and its impact on society without making mention of Burna Boy.

*Confidence

Burna Boy’s confidence is top notch. He an example of one who beliefs in himself and his craft. No matter what anyone tells him about his work. He’s always confident that his work is the best. Regardless of what anyone think of your music craft, what is most important is what you think of yourself and of course this formular is paying off for him.

*Hardworking

Burna Boy is often described as hardworking, he’s not just a dreamer he’s one who works to ensure that he achieves his goal.

While working on the Twice As Tall Album, Burna Boy benched his mum for P.Diddy to play the role of Executive producer of the album and most of the time he is always with him on video call so he can witness the process and adjust where necessary.

Burna Boy knew P.Diddy has better experience of the Grammy Awards than anyone on his team and he did all he could to involve him in the production process of the album.
