Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed Paul Pogba’s recent form after the midfielder netted a stunning winner in Wednesday’s 2-1 victory over Fulham.
The French man endured a slow start to the season that saw the 26-year-old spend some time out on the sideline due to injury and coranavirus.
Pogba, who has also been a subject of several speculations about an exit from Old Trafford due to a lack of regular playing time in the early first-half of the season, surged into prominence in recent weeks.
He has since started five straight league games for United, scoring two goals.
Against Fulham on Wednesday, the former Juventus man grabbed a comeback win after Ademola Lookman put the the cottagers in front five minutes into the game.
The win took Man Utd to the top of the Premier League table, two points above rivals Man City, who have a game in hand.
“We have always said Paul can do everything,” Solskjaer, who was full of praise for his in-form midfielder to BBC “he can play wide, play in midfield, create chances and shoot.”
“Today we felt his position was midfield and what a goal with his left foot. He was so committed and got tackles in as well,” the Norwegian said.
Speaking to BT Sport, Solskjaer added: “[Pogba] has really come on. He is fit, he can play in midfield and he can play wide. That is key with Paul, getting him match fit and running fit and he is at the moment. He played very well.”
United have now won four of their last five league matches to underline their status as title contenders.
The Red Devils will next battle Liverpool in an FA Cup game on Sunday, which comes just one week after the two sides settled for a goalless draw in the EPL.
