Bafana Bafana of South Africa are the new leaders of Group C in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after defeating a resolute Lesotho 2-0 at home.
They now have 10 points from five matches.
Benin sit second in the standings with eight points after being held to a 2-2 draw by Zimbabwe in Durban.
Benin will face South Africa in Abidjan on Tuesday in a top-of-the-table clash.
Rwanda dropped to third with seven points after falling to Nigeria 2-0 in Kigali.
Nigeria climbed to fourth with six points.
Lesotho are now fifth with five points from as many games, while Zimbabwe remain bottom with three points.
The standings could change after the upcoming matches in the following days.
