Despite calls from human rights organizations, six journalists who were detained by South Sudanese authorities a week ago remain incommunicado.
The journalists were arrested on suspicion of spreading a video that appeared to show President Salva Kiir urinating during a public event in December.
Since their arrest, there has been no communication from the journalists or information regarding their whereabouts.
According to South Sudanese law, suspects must be presented before a judge within 24 hours of arrest.
The journalists are believed to be held at the National Security headquarters, also known as the Blue House, in Juba.
The building also functions as a detention centre for political prisoners, where individuals have been known to be held for extended periods of time.
The information minister of South Sudan has not made any statement regarding the case.
