Kenya’s President, William Ruto has emphasized on Korea’s pivotal role in Africa’s transformation.
He affirmed this during the inaugural Korea Africa Summit on Tuesday.
According to Ruto, Africa is eager to forge robust partnerships with Korean investors that will transform the continent’s vast potential into more tangible opportunities, investments, job creation, and economic growth.
“This summit signifies our commitment to enhancing this relationship and rallying the political will necessary for Africa and Korea to thrive together through mutually beneficial collaborations.
“To achieve this, we must leverage our complementarities and implement win-win strategies based on equal partnership,” President Ruto stated
President Ruto highlighted Africa’s untapped potential, noting its dynamic and skilled youthful population, vast arable land, abundant renewable energy resources, and valuable mineral wealth. He pointed out that these assets remain largely unexploited and stressed the importance of developing mutually beneficial collaborations with Korean investors.
The goal is to address critical challenges and foster growth in key areas such as food security, science and technology, peace and security, and health security.
The summit, hosted by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol at the Korea International Exhibition Centre in Goyang, marks a significant step towards strengthening ties between Africa and Korea.
As both regions look to the future, shared growth and sustainability remain at the forefront of their collaboration.
