The Super Falcons were handed a shock 1-0 defeat by Jamaica in their opening game of the Four-Nation Summer Series tournament in the United States which on Thursday night.
Deneisha Blackwood capitalized on an error from Falcons goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi to put the Raggae Girls in front in the 51st minute.
Oluehi had earlier saved a penalty from Blackwood in the first-half; preventing her from adding to her eight international goals for Jamaica.
The Falcons will hope to bounce back from the defeat against Jamaica when they face Portugal on Monday, June 14.
They will face world champions and hosts United States in their final game on Thursday, June 17.
Meanwhile, Reggae Girlz became the first Caribbean team to play in the Women’s World Cup when they made the field in France in 2019.
The team is gearing up for qualifying for the next World Cup, set for Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
