Nigeria’s Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro has named Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen and 22 other internationals ahead of an international friendly against Portugal.
Incidentally, Nottingham forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi and struggling Kelechi Iheanacho were not included.
The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled for Thursday November 17, 2022, three days to World Cup kick-off in Qatar.
The match will happen inside the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal, 7.45pm Nigerian time.
The coach also selected vice captain William Ekong, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in a 23-man squad to face World Cup-bound European top side.
There are also spaces for defenders Calvin Bassey and Kevin Akpoguma, midfielders Ayodele-Aribo and Alex Iwobi, and forwards Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman.
Wing back Tyronne Ebuehi makes a long-awaited return to the fold, as hard-as-nails midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo.
Defenders Bruno Onyemaechi and Bright Osayi Samuel (based in Portugal and Turkey respectively) are called up for the first time.
