The Super Eagles of Nigeria will depart the shores of the country today ahead of their international friendly match against Mexico billed to take place at the LA Coliseum in California, United States of America.
The game – which kicks off at 3:30 am Nigerian time on Saturday, July 3, 2021 will be the sixth meeting between both countries, four of which ended in draws.
The only win in the series has gone to Mexico, when they trumped a US Gold Cup encounter in Dallas (State of Texas) 2-1 on 24th June 1995.
The last time ‘El Tri’ played at the LA Coliseum was during the 2019 Gold Cup. Now for the exhibition game against Nigeria the organizers recommend fans to pre-register for future ticket information and the opportunity to purchase them.
The players got their visas from the U.S. Embassy and also did their COVID-19 tests yesterday ahead of their journey today.
Among the players billed to make the trip to the U.S are goalkeepers Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Heartland), John Noble (Enyimba) and Lobi Stars’ Stanley Nwabali Bobo.
The defenders are Olisa Ndah (Akwa United); Adekunle Adeleke (Abia Warriors); Tope Olusesi (Enugu Rangers); Imoh Obot (Enyimba); Tebo Franklin Degaulle (Nasarawa United); Lawal Oriyomi Murtala (Kwara United); and Enyinnaya Kazie (Rivers United).
