Super Eagles full-back, Zaidu Sanusi has described the goal he scored in the UEFA champions league against Olympique Marseille of France as an important goal of his career.
Sanusi moved to Porto from Santa Clara this summer and has since become regular player with the team with his amazing performance and just yesterday, he crowned it all with his first goal.
The Portuguese side had their hands full on Wednesday night, to see off the French outfit 2 – 0.
Sanusi broke the deadlock few minutes before the break after he slotted in a rebound which from a well-taken corner-kick.
And Sergio Olivera 72ndminute penalty sealed the game for the visitors.
The 23-year-old who was in action for the entire 90 minutes reacted after the game: “We got three important points and congratulations to the whole team. It is a very important goal in my career, my first in the Champions League.”
The Portuguese giants are second in Group C with nine points after four games, behind leaders Manchester City while are at the bottom with no point.
Sanusi already made his international debut for the Super Eagles in a 1 – 0 loss to the Desert Foxes of Algeria in a friendly game played last month.
Meanwhile, Sanusi becomes the second Nigerian to score in this season’s campaign after Emmanuel Dennis of Club Brugge got a goal against Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.
