Nigeria’s senior national team is now focusing on the next friendly match against Portugal.
To this end, Coach Jose Peseiro has said he is looking forward to the Super Eagles facing his native country Portugal in November.
Heritage Times HT reports that Portugal will welcome Nigeria to Lisbon on November 17 in their final 2022 World Cup warm-up.
“I am happy to play against Portugal. It is my country. We will do a good match. I hope the players who are injured recover (in time for this match).
“I will choose the best players, but I hope no big injuries in the team,” he said.
Against Algeria, the Nigerian team were without Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, William Ekong, Leon Balogun, Ahmed Musa and Emmanuel Dennis due to injuries.
Before Peseiro was engaged to coach the Nigerian side, Super Eagles failed to qualify for for this year’s World Cup after a playoff against Ghana.
They also exited the African Cup of Nations in the round of 16 earlier run.
