Popular Instagram comedienne, Maryam Apaokagi also known as Taaooma, has replied the allegation leveled against her by a filmmaker simply identified as Ola.
Ola, with handle @Olaondeck on Twitter, said a client allegedly paid the video content creator the sum of 1.5 million naira to do a short video promotion for his brand, but the client didn’t like the work on completion.
The self-acclaimed filmmaker in a now-deleted post on claimed Taaooma charged his client the sum of N1.5 million for a video that didn’t entirely meet the expectations of the client.
According to him, after the comedian was informed about the dissatisfaction with her execution of the project, she allegedly maintained a “take it or leave it” position.
In his words:
“Paid Taaoma 1.5m.
“She shot video and the client doesn’t like the work done. and her position is TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.
“We are not asking for a full refund, but at least a sense of concession will go a long way.
“1.5m gone like that
“And you guys wonder how Maraji fell off? For those of you asking “What did Maraji do?”.
“Maraji didn’t do anything in this situation and she’s a fantastic storyteller.
“However, ask anyone who has worked with her and her team, she’s not the easiest person to work with.
“Hence the reason for the honest comparison.”
Responding to the allegations, the comedian through her management, The Greenade Company, in a statement dismissed the claims made by the filmmaker.
According to the statement, “Taaooma and her management never had any communication or business dealings whatsoever with this person.”
The management further said its taking a legal action to seek redress against the person of Mr. Olashile Owolabi who tweets @olaondeck and all online media outfit who choose to share the malicious and defamatory content without verifying the same.
