Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka says he would avoid talking about the activities of the Buhari administration because it is best for his sanity not to do so.
Soyinka who was seen being interviewed by a Kaftan TV reporter on board a train described the new Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan standard gauge train, as marvellous and long overdue.
When asked whether the new train was a plus to Buhari’s regime, he said: “I don’t want to talk about Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. I think it is best for my sanity just to avoid that overall question. I can take bits and pieces of Nigeria’s present predicament but I think for one’s sense of balance, one must forget the existence of the Buhari administration.”
It is worthwhile to note that since Mr. Buhari assumed office as president in 2015, Nigeria economy has slipped into recession twice, while insecurity pervades the entire country as Boko Haram, bandits and kidnappers intensify their operations.
Also, Mr. Buhari’s administration has been characterised by human rights abuses as state agents clampdown on critics of the government.
