Singer and songwriter, Teminlolo Openiyi, widely known as Tems has earned her first BET Awards nomination.
The nomination is in the Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act category.
The ‘Damages’ singer was nominated alongside five others which includes; Ronisia (France), Elaine (South Africa), MC Dricka (Brazil), Bree Runway (UK), Bramisto (France), and Arlo Parks (UK).
Announcing the exciting news of her nomination via Insta-story Tems wrote: “Crazy, Crazy, Crazy, Rebel gang to Naija. I love you“, was what she captioned the post.
With this nomination, Tems has joined the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy who were both nominated for 2021 BET Best International Act.
Last year (at the 2020 BET Awards), Rema was the Nigerian artist that was nominated for the ‘Best New International Act’ but he lost to SHA SHA of Zimbabwe.
