Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel is determined to improve his attack ahead of the 2021-22 season.
The former Paris Saint Germain manager, who was confirmed as the new coach of the London club on Tuesday, has viewed Dortmund’s striker Erling Haaland as a potential target, Sports Mole.
The 47-year-old handled his first game in charge of Chelsea on Wednesday as his side settled for a goalless draw against Wolves.
Chelsea’s attack has appeared not so sharp in the league in weeks. Prior to Frank Lampard’s demise, there have been calls asking the Englishman to drop his £45m striker, Timo Werner on the bench due to his dip in form in front of goal.
Meanwhile, some quotas have suggested a swap of position for the 24-year-old to get him firing in the final third of the field.
The former RB Leipzig forward watched the entire encounter of Wednesday’s clash with Wolves from the bench as Tuchel rather handed Oliver Giroud and Tammy Abraham the opportunity to prove themselves.
Werner, Abraham and Giroud have all scored a total of 29 goals this season in all competitions.
Haaland, 20, has been in excellent form for Dortmund during the current season, finding the back of the net 21 times in 19 appearances for his Bundesliga club.
According to Sports Mole, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been strongly linked with the Norwegian, who has struck 29 times in 27 outings for BVB in all competitions.
Haaland is unlikely to be allowed to leave Signal Iduna Park this summer, but a release clause in his contract is expected to come into play in 2022, with a host of clubs are reportedly keeping tabs on the young star.
