Three Super Eagles players – Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella will face each other for the first time when Atalanta and Bayern Leverkusen clash in the Europa League final later in May, 2024.
While Lookman features for Atalanta, Boniface and Tella play for Leverkusen.
Atalanta hit their first European final after overcoming Marseille 3-0 in Bergamo, completing a 4-1 win on aggregate to make the UEFA Europa League showpiece in Dublin.
It was an encounter in which Lookman emerged Man of the Match, just as his club claimed the biggest win in the Italian club’s history.
For Marseille, they have won just four games on the road in all competitions this season.
Atalanta can also qualify for next season’s revamped Champions League through Serie A as they currently sit in Italy’s fifth and final position for Europe’s top club competition.
They host Roma on Sunday night in a match which could well decide who finishes in the top five.
Leverkusen, reigning champions of Germany’s Bundesliga reached the Europa League final in a sterling fashion by holding on to 49 matches unbeaten run.
