Renowned golfer Tiger Woods has revealed that he won’t participate in the Genesis Invitational scheduled for Torrey Pines.
He said his decision to withdraw from the competition was in honour of his mother, Kultida, whose passing was confirmed on 4 February 2025.
Woods, who spoke through his social media handle, wrote: “I planned to tee it up this week, but I’m just not ready.
“I did my best to prepare, knowing it’s what my mum would have wanted, but I’m still processing her loss.
“Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I hope to be at Torrey later in the week and appreciate the continued kindness since my mum’s passing.”
Woods has not featured in a PGA Tour event since last year’s Open at Royal Troon in July.
The American has not played regularly since being involved in a car accident in February 2021 and underwent further surgery on his lower back in September.
