National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on Monday hosted by the Kano State Government to his 12th Colloquium in part of events to mark his ’69th’ birthday.
The frail-looking Tinubu who celebrated his birthday yesterday, did not appear very healthy, as he walked sluggishly towards the podium to give his brief remarks before being joined by the Kano Governor, Umar Ganduje to cut his birthday cake.
While many of the political stakeholders took their turns to celebrate the ‘Jagaban’ as he is popularly referred to, other Nigerians doubted the authenticity of his age.
In the event of his birthday, a viral video of Tinubu wobbly falling down while walking at an event in Kaduna, resurfaced online again.
The arguments about his true age was further fuelled, as information of his biography from online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, put his age at 79, and not 69.

So, was he born in 1952 or 1942? Is he 69 or 79? Did they forget to clean up their Wikipedia page properly? So many questions. Happy 89th birthday to the President Nigeria will never have in the name of Jesus, amen
Wikipedia say na happy 79th Nigerian government say na happy 69th. These life make una dey try dey fear God sometimes.
Speaking at the event, Tinubu who outwardly looked older than his age, emphasised that unity is key to Nigeria’s existence, adding that the Yorubas and Fulanis are one and have to live together.
“Why are we in Kano? It is to demonstrate to Nigerians at this critical time. It is because there is a Fulani man, a herder man who gave his daughter to a farmer, Yoruba man. And that Fulani, that Yoruba, and some people are agitating wrongly.
“If we can encourage support to go and spend a couple of days with my brother, an in-law in Kano and demonstrate that he has not quarreled with me, he has not seceded from Nigeria, I didn’t need a passport or visa to get to Kano, maybe others will have peace of conscience, live in peace and harmony and be loving to one another.
“That is what Ganduje and I are showing to Nigerians and that is the purpose of this colloquium end of story. That a Fulani man and a Yoruba man can show the entire nation that in harmony, we can show Nigerians that perseverance creates understanding. It is a common blood that flows through our veins,” he said.
