Nigeria’s Divine Odurudu returned to the track in a scintillating fashion, as he qualified for the men’s 200m semi-final on Tuesday, at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Recall that Odurudu was disqualified in the 100m showdown due to a false start. However, the much anticipated success from the Nigerian is closer than ever after he sprinted 20.36 sec behind Jamaica’s Rasheed Dwyer – who won in 20.31 sec.
South Africa’s Anaso Jobdwana emerged third in 20.78sec
Meanwhile, Team Nigeria’s Patience Okon-George finished seventh in 52.41sec in heat one of women’s 400m.
Shaunae Miller-Uibo won the heat, jogging towards the line to finish in a time of 50.50sec while Cuba’s Roxanna Gomez ran a Personal Best of 50.76sec and Sada Williams emerged third in 51.36sec.
