The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that its Secretary-General, Veron Mosengo-Omba, has been absolved of fraud allegations.
CAF disclosed this in a statement on its official website.
“The Swiss Public Prosecutor’s Office has decided that it will stop investigations against Confederation Africaine de Football (“CAF”) Secretary-General, Veron Mosengo-Omba, as they found no facts or legal basis to initiate legal proceedings.
“In November 2024, Veron Mosengo-Omba voluntarily travelled to Fribourg, Switzerland, to answer questions relating to the preliminary investigations.
“CAF welcomes the decision of the Swiss Public Prosecutor’s Office and is pleased that there continues to be adherence and compliance within CAF and the CAF Secretariat with the culture and commitment to ethics, transparency, and governance that was introduced since the presidency of Dr Patrice Motsepe.”
Before becoming CAF’s Secretary-General, Mosengo-Omba worked at FIFA.
