The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Wabote has expressed excitement over the rapid progression of Tansel Project.
The Transel Project, a partnership between Transel Gas Ltd and the NCDMB, is a 5,000MT LPG loading and receiving terminal.
Speaking during a visit to the Transel Project site in Koko, Delta State, Engr. Wabote said he was delighted with work progress at the site.
According to him: “In a few months that they got to site they have been able to get to this level. It gives me a lot of courage and excitement that they will indeed complete this project within the record time.”
The local content chieftain went on to note that the project was in line with the Board’s efforts geared towards capacity building and actualizing objectives of the Decade of Gas declared by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020.
“Capacity building is not just in human capacity that we do extensively. It’s also in the capacity of Nigerians to be able to take advantage of our abundant resources.
“You may recall that our dear president in 2020 declared a decade of gas.
“A decade of gas means that we needed to harness our abundant Gas resources for the benefit of Nigerians in particular,” he said.
While applauding Transel for the workdone so far, Engr. Wabote also enjoined the community to protect the project.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Transel Gas Ltd, Engr. Chibuike Achigbu, harped on the importance of the project, stressing that: “Gas is everything, there’s no pollution when it comes to gas. The community stands a lot to benefit from this project. It will also help boost the Nigerian economy.”
Engr. Achigbu went on to thank the Board for the support so far and promised to deliver on the project.
