Former Chelsea and Bayern Coach has reportedly agreed terms with the England Football Association.
Tuchel was high on Manchester United’s shortlist since June, but the Red Devils had since decided to continue with Erik ten Hag.
Lee Carsley will the England top job with Tuchel set to become the new head coach after talks in the last 24 hours.
First approach was in July with Tuchel already open with agreement now set to be announced in a statement.
The German will be unveiled later this week, according to reports in England.
Tuchel quickly emerged as the frontrunner on Tuesday, having left his job as Bayern Munich manager at the end of last season.
After receiving assurances the German was interested in the job, as FA chiefs quickly entered into negotiations with him.
Lee Carsley has been in interim charge of the team ever since, guiding the Three Lions through the Nations League.
But following both last week’s defeat to Greece and Sunday’s win over Finland, Carsley made it clear he would not be taking on the job permanently.
Tuchel last managed Liverpool FC.
