helsea drop two points in the top-four battle after being forced to a goalless draw at Elland Road by newly-promoted Leeds United in a week 29 Premier League match.
The match showed a few flashes of promises but none of the teams could get the ball into the back of the net. Leeds had a goal disallowed in the early stages of the first-half after.
Patrick Bamford was caught in an offside position before Tyler Roberts finished off his low cross.
Chelsea should have gone 1-0 up after a deflection by two Leeds defenders hit the cross-bar in the ninth minute.
The Blues were lucky not to have conceded after Robert forced a fine save from Edouard Mendy which came off the cross-bar.
The best chance of the match fell to Kai Havertz after the German created space for himself in the box but his resulting shot was saved by Illan Meslier in the second half.
Meslier also made a crucial save in the match from Antonio Rudiger’s shot in the 75th minute and at the other end, James made a crucial block to keep the scoreline goalless.
Tuchel’s side are now three points better off than West Ham in fifth, though they have played two games more than both their London rivals and Everton, who are five points worse off.
The Blues next have a Champions League date with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, while Leeds – now within two points of the top half – head to Fulham on Friday.
