Thomas Tuchel could be on his way to becoming the first Chelsea boss since Carlo Ancelotti in 2009 to win his first three Premier League away fixtures when the Blues face Southampton on Saturday.
However, the game is likely not to be a walk over for Chelsea as we expect to see a thrilling contest owing to an age-old rivalry existing between Tuchel and Ralph Hasenhutt.
Both men are well familiar to one another, with Tuchel’s Borussia Dortmund and Hasenhuttl’s RB Leipzig having battled to be the second force in Germany behind Bayern Munich for years.
Chelsea have been in impressive form since Tuchel was appointed at the end of January, winning five of their six matches in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Southampton are still without a win in their last seven games after they stunned champions Liverpool 1 – 0 in January.
Ralph Hasenhutt’s men will be hoping to cause another upset when they welcome an in form Blues side.
The six-time English champions will enter the clash off the back of a 2 – 0 win over Newcastle United on Monday night courtesy of goals from Olivier Giroud and Timo Werner.
Chelsea are now fourth in the Premier League table, level on points with fifth-placed West Ham United but just four points behind Manchester United in second while Southampton sits 13th.
Hasenhuttl will also meet Zsolt Low, his former assistant, who is now at Chelsea with Tuchel.
The duo worked together at RB Leipzig between 2016 and 2018 until he was contracted by Tuchel to be part of his assistant when he was at the helms of affair at Paris St Germain.
