Two Super Eagles – Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Nwakali are back to fitness after injury layoffs in the past weeks.
While Ndidi plays for former English Premier League champions – Leicester City, Nwakali is with Spanish club – SD Ponferendina.
Leicester Coach Brendan Rodgers who revealed midfielder Ndidi’s availability said he will be in the team’s starting lineup as from January, 2023.
The Nigerian international has been one of the mainstays of the team since he arrived from Genk of Belgium in 2017.
But a consistent injury in recent times has affected his position in the team.
Also, another Nigerian midfielder Nwakali has resumed training after injury-plagued time.
The former Golden Eaglets captain sustained the injury while representing his Spanish club in a league match.
After spending a few days in the gym for his rehabilitation, former SD Huesca finally returned to the field.
Nwakali was part of the Super Eagles team at the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon under coach Austin Eguavoen.
He caught many eyes after his sterling performance at the 2015 U17 World Cup.
