WBC world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has revealed that his eyes are firmly fixed on defending his title against Anthony Joshua.
Recall that the Fury and Joshua anticipated clash was called off after an arbitrator ruled that the former must fight Deontay Wilder or be in violation of their rematch clause.
Joshua lost his WBA (super), IBF and WBO titles to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in September, while Fury defended his crown against Wilder last October.
While Fury has been touted to square off against Dillian Whyte or Joe Joyce in his blockbuster return sometime in February, the 32-year-old has insisted that he’s not interested in facing either of the British contenders.
The self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ said: “I’m only interested in two fights, Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk,” he told iFL TV.
“Apart from that, I’m not interested. If I don’t get them fights, not interested.”
Pressed on who he’ll fight next, Fury replied: “We’ll find out February, but today’s only November, so a lot can happen in a few months.”
Usyk dethroned Joshua of the WBA (super), IBF and WBO titles in September, with the pair set to run it back next year.
Obviously, Usyk or Joshua won’t be his opponent come February, with their impending rematch slated for the first quarter of 2022.
