Samuel Chukwueze’s Villarreal will be aiming to make progress in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night as they welcome Juventus to the Estadio de la Ceramica for the first leg of their last-16 battle.
Chukwueze is expected to be named in Coach Unai Emery’s starting XI for tonight’s clash after helping the Spanish side to a 4-1 win over Granada on Saturday.
The 22-year-old came off the substitute’s bench to provide an assist in the game.
Chukwueze will hope to continue in this form on Tuesday as the Europa League winners aim to reach the Champions League quarter-final stage for the first time in 13 years.
The last time Villarreal reached the Champions League knock-out was in 2008/09 season –where they were bundled out of the competition by Arsenal following a 4-1 aggregate score-line.
Heading into tonight’s game, the Yellow Submarine finished second in Group F behind Manchester United and will be looking to equal their best-ever feat –semi-final –this season.
