Injured Super Eagles and Villareal winger Samuel Chukwueze has returned to training with the La Liga outfit ahead of the UEFA Europa League final against English premier league side Manchester United.
The Super Eagles winger, who has been exceptional for the Yellow Submarine in the competition this season, was stretchered off during a pulsating 0-0 draw in the second-leg semi-final against Arsenal at the Emirates.
The injury forced the Nigeria international to miss some key La Liga fixtures including Villarreal’s 4-0 defeat of Sevilla last weekend.
The 21-year-old was spotted on Wednesday training which makes it exactly one week before they take on Manchester United in the final match salted for 26th of May, in Poland.
Chukwueze has remained a key part of Unai Emery’s selection this season and only recently, the fleet-footed attacker rediscovered his goalscoring boots with three goals in his last four La Liga appearances.
Villareal are currently seventh on the top-flight table and will face Real Madrid this weekend in the final match day of the Spanish La Liga but the match may come too soon for the fast-paced forward.
Meanwhile, winning the Europa League could become the defining moment in Chukwueze’s career as it would launch him into the Champions League scene next season via automatic qualification.
