The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control in Uganda, operating under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has declared a temporary suspension of their services due to a fiber cable cut at the ministry headquarters.
A public notice was issued to inform the public about the incident, stating, “We would like to inform the public that there has been an internet fiber cut at the Ministry Headquarters, which has caused a temporary breakdown of our services on Thursday.
According to the official statement ‘‘this disruption has impacted services at all our centers, including Passport Services, Immigration Services (such as Work Permit, Special Pass, Dependant Passes, Certificates of Residence, and Student Passes processing), at the Headquarters, Regional Offices, and at Missions and Embassies,”
The directorate assured the public that their technical teams are diligently working to swiftly restore normal services, expressing apologies for any inconvenience caused. They emphasized the commitment to expedite the restoration process, ensuring clients that services will resume promptly.
The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control is responsible for processing passports for Ugandans and handling various services such as issuing visas and permits to foreign nationals.
