Concern Students Association of the University of Ghana are demanding the immediate removal of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo from office over what they described as her lack of leadership.
The group also criticised the Vice Chancellor for her knee-jerk approach in resolving students’ matters.
On Friday, the concerned students abandoned lectures and converged at the Obra Spot in Accra, for a demonstration dubbed, ‘Ya Br3 Mo’ (We are tired of you).
Amidst chanting and drumming, they marched through the principal streets of Accra to the Independence Square, where they presented a petition to the Ministry of Education.
The students also demanded a refund of the unlawful monies they have been charged as school fees and the reversal of the unreasonable and exorbitant prices of residential accommodation on campus among others.
‘‘We demand that Management of the University comes up with a clear plan on solving accommodation problems. Lasting solutions have to be meted out to this long existing problem immediately. Also starting from this year, students want to see hostels springing up on the University campus.’’ hey said.
