Criminal elements have struck again in Kaduna state, northern Nigeria, and abducted an unknown number of people including students at the Greenfield University located in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
The attack reportedly occurred on Tuesday night.
According to the Foundation of Investigative Journalism, Simon Nwakacha, an official of the university neither confirmed nor denied that the university was attacked and students kidnapped.
“I have no statement to issue now. No comment for now. All comments should be directed to Mr Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Agency,” he said.
Asked when he would confirm the report, Nwakacha said that “days to come, because things are still dicey”.
Samuel Aruwan, commissioner for Internal Security in Kaduna State confirmed reports of the attack, but promised to issue a statement after receiving feedback from security agencies, according to The Cable.
This is coming weeks after 39 students were abducted when bandits attacked Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Igabi LGA.
