Uruguay early Sunday morning reached the semi-final of the ongoing 2024 Copa America slated to end July 14.
This is after they defeated Brazil on penalties.
The penalty decider ended 4-2 after a goalless playing time.
Uruguay, who finished the game with ten men after Nahitan Nandez was sent off in the 74th minute, will face Colombia in Charlotte, North Carolina, in their semi-final on Wednesday.
Colombia, now unbeaten in 27 games, beat Panama 5-0 in Saturday’s other quarter-final in Arizona.
The other semi-final, in New Jersey on Tuesday, will see world champions Argentina face surprise package Canada.
