16-year-old US mother, Jazmin Paez has been arrested and charged to court for attempting to hire a hitman to kill her 3-year-old son.
The teenage mother on Wednesday appeared before a Miami-Dade County court in the South Eastern US State of Florida, where she was charged with solicitation of murder and unlawful use of a communications device.
A report by the Miami-Dade police accused Paez of enlisting the help of a parody hit-for-hire website to have the boy “taken away, far, far, far away and possibly be killed but ASAP.” The report also stated that she was willing to pay $3,000.
She stated that she wanted “to get something done once and for all,” the report said.
According to the police report, Paez provided the address where her son lives with his grandmother.
She also supplied a recent photo of her son, and her phone number when she visited the parody website to seek the hitman’s service.
The man who runs the website was said to have contacted the police and on Tuesday, detectives swung into action.
Using tracking devices, Paez was traced with IP address and phone number provided, and she was tracked to her father’s where she has lived for some months.
Nothing was said about the baby’s father.
The grandmother also spoke with detectives and informed them that her daughter moved out in May.
She added that her grandson still lives with her and FaceTime’s his mom, regularly.
Appearing before Miami-Dade County Judge Mindy Glazer, Paez, stated that she has never been treated for any type of mental health condition.
Her bail bond was set at $15,000. She was released from jail on Thursday.
