The Nigerian Air Force has disclosed that seven of its personnel who died in last Sunday’s plane crash in Abuja, will be buried on Thursday, February 25 at the National Cemetery, Abuja.
Recall that a NAF aircraft, Beechcraft KingAir BB305i, crashed on Sunday afternoon after reporting engine failure, and killed all personnel onboard.
The victims are: Flight Lieutenant Haruna Gadzama (Captain), Flight Lieutenant Henry Piyo (Co-Pilot), Flying Officer Micheal Okpara (Airborne Tactical Observation System (ATOS) Specialist) and Warrant Officer Bassey Etim (ATOS Specialist).
Others are: Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi (ATOS Specialist), Sergeant Ugochukwu Oluka (ATOS Specialist), and Aircraftman Adewale Johnson (Onboard Technician).
While President Muhamamadu Buhari, Minister of Defence, Magashi Salihi, and other Nigerians have condoled with the NAF family, I was gathered that full investigations into the remote and immediate causes of the crash has commenced.
