Nigeria’s Super Falcons are now gearing up ahead of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations first round, first leg qualifying match against Sao Tome and Principe.
To this end, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed the official invitation of 24 players, Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala to prosecute the encounter.
There is also call-up for regulars –
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, midfielder Rasheedat Ajibade, captain Onome Ebi, defenders Oluwatosin Demehin, Michelle Alozie and Rofiat Imuran, midfielders Rasheedat Ajibade and Toni Payne, and forwards Ifeoma Onumonu, Vivian Ikechukwu and Gift Monday.
Nine-time African champions Nigeria will host the Sao Tome and Principe girls at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Friday, September 22, with the return leg scheduled for Tuesday, September.26, 2023.
The winner of this fixture will be eligible to confront the winner of another first round fixture between Cape Verde and Liberia, at the second-round stage slated for the period November 27 to December 5, 2023.
Morocco, which hosted last year’s edition of the continental showpiece, will again host next year’s spectacle.
Super Falcons took part in the 2023 Women’s World Cup and gave good account of themselves despite being knocked out by England in the round of 16.
They retained Africa’s number one spot thereafter FIFA released latest rankings.
