SD Huesca of Spain attacking midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali has made it clear that the target of the Super Eagles is to come out victorious in all games at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Nigeria will begin her quest for a fourth continental title in their opening Group D cracker against Egypt on Tuesday, January 11.
The game against Egypt is expected to be a tough encounter considering the pedigrees of both teams and Nwakali explained that the aim of the Super Eagles is to win.
According to the report on Complete Sports and GOAL, Nwakali who will be making his debut for the Super Eagles said that he is honoured to represent Nigeria in Cameroon and stated clearly that he wants his invitation to the Super Eagles be a glorious one.
“We are here to write our names in the history books, make our families and our country proud.
“If it happens that we win the competition, fine but the most important thing is to represent Nigeria in flying colours.
The former youth international continued: “That’s the mindset of everybody, that’s the first goal. It is football and we don’t predict what will happen but we work as a team to win the competition.”
