Chelsea played out a goalless draw against Wolves on Wednesday as Thomas Tuchel marked his first game in charge of the west London club.
The Blues dominated the encounter as they completed a record breaking 433 passes in the opening half, which happened to be the team’s most in the first half of a Premier League since at least 2003-04.
Despite failing to pick three points in his first match, Tuchel insisted that he was pleased with his sides performance while stating strengthen the squad in the coming years.
Speaking in a post match conference, the 47-year-old said: “We have the capacity to hurt everybody in every competition with this squad. It’s my job to bring the team to its level. This is a starting point.
“We will focus on our strengths and build a team that nobody wants to play against. This is the challenge — to do this as fast as possible.”
Tuchel was previously in charge of Paris Saint-Germain, having led the Ligue 1 powerhouses to the Champions League final last season.
However, he was dismissed by the club in December and replaced by former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The west London club will next play Burnley at home, on Sunday in another fixture of the English Premier League.
