Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard says he would return to former club Chelsea once his contract at the Bernabeu expires in the coming years.
The 30-year-old Belgium forward joined Real Madrid from the London club for a deal worth £83.53million in the summer of 2019 but has spent most of his time on the sideline.
Hazard’s spell with the Los Blancos has been marred by series of injuries__ which has hindered the player from getting back to his best as he’s only been on the scoresheet thrice in 30 games for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
His departure practically marked the beginning of a new era for the Blues, with young players such as Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner taking hold of the sceptre.
“When I finish here I’ll come back,” Hazard said. Asked if he watches his former team play on TV, Hazard responded: “Yeah, when I can I watch. Not all the time.
“They are doing well, they’re young. Now they can pay for players, they can buy players now.
“I do my job here and then I come back.”
The former Lille man came off the back of an impressive 7-year-spell at Chelsea where he scored 85 goals in 245 appearances.
With three years left on his current contract, it is believed the striker’s return to Stamford Bridge would further reinforce the Blues attack.
