A former Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Services, Babatunde Fowler is being quizzed at the Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Confirming the development to newsmen, the spokesperson of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren said Fowler was invited to the commission and he responded today at the anti-graft zonal office in Lagos
It was gathered that Fowler was being quizzed over the N100 billion tax evasion allegations levelled against a tax firm, Alpha Beta Consulting.
Mr Fowler, who earlier served as the first Lagos State Internal Revenue Service chairman for eight years, was relieved off his job December last year as the FIRS boss.
President Muhammadu Buhari queried him over insufficient tax collection since 2015, replacing him with Muhammad Nami, a tax consultant, as the new chairman of the tax agency.
