Victor Osimhen has explained why he grabbed a camera to take a photo during Napoli 2-1 win at Verona in a Serie A game on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward scored both goals for Napoli as they recorded an away win which keeps them in second place and in the race for their first-ever Scudetto in 32 years with 9 games to go.
Osimhen scored a header in the 14th minute of the game following a good cross from Matteo Politano. He completed his brace in the 71st minute of the game after an excellent work from Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
The 22-year-old ran towards the away fans to celebrate his second goal, and Koulibaly handed him a camera from the team’s photographer to take a picture.
And the Nigerian has explained the reason behind his action.
“I photograph? The fans deserved a snapshot,” said Osimhen as quoted by corrieredellosport.
“Koulibaly gave me the camera and I took a photo of the fans because they were exceptional again today and it was not taken for granted after the last defeat.”
Victor Osimhen’s celebration was a repeat of what Kalidou Koulibaly did during Napoli’s win against Juventus last September.
“I saw the fans up there and wanted to keep the moment in a photograph, it was too beautiful!” he told DAZN.
“This victory is for them because we missed them for over a year and to see them back in the stands makes us so happy.
“We knew that both teams were missing important players, and it’s a pity we conceded that goal, but we had the right maturity to react and change things.”
It was Osimhen’s ninth league goals for Napoli in Serie A this season, having missed a large chunk of matches through injuries.
