CAF has released a final five women shortlist for the 2024 Awards.
In it, Nigerian goalkeeper – Chiamaka Nnadozie, and two Nigerian teams – Super Falcons and Edo Queens made the final cuts.
Nnadozie made the final five shortlist in the Goalkeeper of the Year category and will slug it out with South Africa’s Andile Dlamini of Mamelodi Sundowns and South Africa, Khadija Er-rmichi of ASFAR and Morocco, FC Masar and Egypt’s Habiba Sabry and Fideline Ngoy of TP Mazambe and DR Congo.
The Super Falcons first choice won the award at the 2023 CAF Awards.
In the National Team of the Year category for women, Nigeria made the cut alongside Cameroon, Morocco, Zambia and South Africa.
Edo Queens, who finished fourth at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, will battle TP Mazembe, FC Masar, ASFAR and Mamelodi Sundowns for the award.
Also, Falconets striker Chiamaka Okwuchukwu is in the final five shortlist for the Young Player of the Year award.
