After finishing tops in their various groups, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali and host Rwanda will later on Tuesday know their quarter-final opponents in the ongoing Women’s Afrobasket tournament in Kigali.
All the four qualified teams won their two group matches to emerge.
The second and third placed eight teams are now expected to face each other in the classification games to determine the remaining four to join the quarter-final party.
In the classification pairings scheduled for Tuesday, August 1, 2023, Angola will battle Guinea, just as Egypt play Senegal.
In other matches, Mozambique will face Cote d’ivoire while Uganda confront DR Congo.
Defending Champions Nigeria had defeated DR Congo and Egypt in straight victories to book a last eight place.
The Nigerian side mostly known as D’Tigress are made up of mainly new players outside those who took part in the competition two years ago and beyond.
They will return to action on Wednesday to seek ways to advance to the semi-final stage of the Championship meant to climax on August 5.
Nigeria is chasing a 4th title in a row after recording victories in the last three editions of the tournament in 2017, 2019 and 2021.
