Maduka Okoye has been ruled out of Nigeria’s World Cup play-off against Ghana due to illness.
Enyimba goalkeeper, John Noble has been picked to replace Okoye who has kept four clean sheets in his last five appearances for Sparta Rotterdam this season, according to reports.
Noble represented Nigeria at the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, but was placed on standby in Coach Augustine Eguavoen’s list to prosecute the World Cup play-off against the Black Stars.
Okoye’s absence could pose a serious setback in the Eagles campaign, however, reports has it that the 22-year-old would be available for the second leg billed for Thursday, April 29th at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja.
Okoye becomes the latest invitee to pull out of the crucial encounter after injury forced Leicester City’s Midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi out of the game.
